- What is a bubbler? A bubbler is a compact water pipe that filters and cools smoke through a small water reservoir. It sits between a dry pipe and a full bong in terms of size and filtration.
- What does a percolator do? The perc breaks smoke into smaller bubbles as it passes through the water. More surface area means better filtration and smoother hits. The Lumina uses a 4-slot design.
- What does "14mm joint" mean? The joint is the opening where your bowl attaches. 14mm is the most common size — virtually all standard bowls and accessories are available in this size.
- How much water do I add? Enough to submerge the bottom of the downstem by about half an inch. Too much causes splashback; too little and the perc won't engage.
- How often should I clean it? After every few sessions. Resin buildup and dirty water degrade flavor and make hits harsher. Isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt is the standard method.
